"A giant club crafted from a chunk of Ice Caps breath mints. Most melee tools can be used to block enemy attacks, and players can cancel their own attacks mid-animation by blocking. Standard bows have a similar mechanic where fully-charged shots deal more damage than uncharged ones, though this is not shared with crossbows like the Crow Crossbow which cannot be charged. Each subsequent hit in the combo deals more damage than the last (50% > 100% > 150%). Most melee tools, except daggers and spears, have a 3-hit attack combo. All tools can also be upgraded to artificially include these augments as well as overall better damage and durability. All of these variables combined affect the amount of damage dealt to creatures by the player. Other high-tier melee tools have inherent elemental augments. Some weapons, similar to armor, come with certain effects attached to them. However, tools under the light, repair, shield, and misc categories are used purely for utility purposes. Each tool is designated to a certain sub-category that determines the type of damage it is capable of dealing to enemies and the environment alike.
